Fun with RSS Feeds

I don't know if anyone noticed but the site RSS feed stopped working on Monday.
After some investigations and a little help from Gerald at Hyde Daily Photo it got sorted.

So long story short; the feed address had to be updated to include the new Elko Daily Photo URL to work properly.

What this means is that if you want to continue to see the Daily Photos from Elko then you have to update your RSS subscription by clicking on the "Subscribe to Elko Daily Photo" link in the right column.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

But above all... thanks for your continued support of Elko Daily Photo.

Three Bridges

A pair of bridges with a third bridge in the distance.
This type of bridge appears to be the standard so I am now on the hunt for different styles of bridges.
Stay tuned.

Wern't No Gold!

The wee leprechaun made off with the goods just in time.
But I sure was close.

It was a full rainbow but it was too close and my camera did not go wide enough.
You get the idea though, right?

Who ever said there was nothing pretty along the I-80 corridor?

Rail Bridge Near Palisade

Driving around in the rain on Saturday, taking random roads to see where they go. This is one thing I found. Over the next few days I will post more of my discoveries exploring random dirt roads.

Pass in Review

It is not often you get to see all six Thunderbirds fly in formation. This was taken as the team did a pass in review before resuming the demonstration after the thunderstorm rolled through.

EDP Weekend Report: David Archuleta

David Archuleta at the Real Salt Lake Match this past Saturday night.
If you are scratching your head and asking yourself... Who? You are not alone. I am not a fan of reality show's and American Idol is certainly one of my least favorites so it is no small wonder why I did not know who he is.
Apparently he is from Salt Lake City. He seemed a nice enough kid.

EDP Weekend Report: USAF Thunderbirds

I am not sure I mentioned how much I love Air Shows. Especially Air Shows that feature the US Air Force Thunderbirds and the US Navy Blue Angels.
At age 6 I saw my first Air Show, it featured the Blue Angels in Aberdeen, Maryland and being prior Navy I tend to have a preference for the Blue Angels. Since I live in a land locked state that has an Air Force Base I have actually seen the Thunderbirds about half a dozen more times.
This Weekend I went to Ogden, Utah to see the show at Hill Air Force Base.
The demonstration was interrupted briefly by a thunderstorm but otherwise went off without a hitch.
I will be travelling to Reno in September to see the Blue Angels, in the meantime check out a couple shots from the Thunderbirds show.

After the Storm

I saw this on the drive to Salt Lake on Monday.
There have been several massive storms roll through North Eastern Nevada over the past week.
The kind of turbulent sky created by the storms is quite impressive.
I hope you enjoy them.

Safety Switch!

On my way home yesterday I happened across this scene.

Police keep curious onlookers (like me) away...

The patient continues on.

My hat is off to the men and women that make up First Responder teams like this.
They make being a hero part of the job description.

Pelicans at Wildhorse Reservoir

On a normal day this shot would not have made the cut because the Pelican is flying away from me.
But the colors make this my favorite shot from yesterday at Wildhorse Reservoir.
